The meals that will be available are lunches on Tuesday and Wednesday and the President’s Breakfast on Wednesday (Board Members, Extension Faculty, and Past State Presidents who have purchased a ticket). All other meals will be on your own. See the registration form on page 15 for the cost of these three meals. (Lobby cafe’ will be open in the Convention Center from 1p.m – 6p.m., if you choose to eat there.)

Opening Luncheon and General Session
Everyone is invited to attend the Opening Luncheon and General Session, which will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2008. Come meet your AEHC Board and enjoy the Opening Session. Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Brad Davis, Executive Director of 4-H Foundation.

President’s Breakfast
The President’s Breakfast will be Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at the Austin Hotel in DeSoto 2 and 3. AEHC Officers, AEHC Associate District Directors, AEHC District Directors, AEHC Past State Presidents, County Council Presidents or their representative, and State and County Extension Professionals are eligible to attend the President’s Breakfast if they purchase a ticket. No speaker is planned for breakfast.

Awards Luncheon
Everyone is invited to attend the Awards Luncheon that will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2008. Dr. Ivory Lyles, Associate Vice-President of Cooperative Extension Service, will be our speaker. Counties receiving awards will be recognized at this time. A separate letter will be sent regarding who will participate in this program. Following the awards program, photographs will be made. Those receiving awards should remain for pictures to be taken.

Lodging
The Austin Hotel and the Embassy Suites will be available for lodging. Hotel attendants will be available. Please remember that it is customary to tip an attendant $1 per bag. Also, remember that there will be many people checking into the hotel at the same time. Please be patient when checking in, or plan your arrival when you think others will not be there. (If your room is not ready at the Austin, you may take bags to the boardroom on the second floor.)

Parking
There is parking north of the Convention Center. No one should have any problem finding adequate parking. The trolley is on a 20-minute schedule from other hotels.

Insurance
All delegates who are registered at the meeting will be covered by a group sick and accident insurance policy from the time they leave home on June 9 or 10 until they return home on June 12. This insurance is secondary to your family insurance as well as Medicare. If you are eligible for Medicare, you must file a claim with them. The remaining eligible charges after your own insurance and Medicare have paid can be filed with the group insurance. Anyone requiring assistance with this should contact Financial Services in the state Extension office after returning home.

AEHC Board of Directors Meeting
AEHC Officers, AEHC Past Presidents, County Council Presidents, or their representatives and State and County Extension Professionals should plan to attend the Board of Directors Meeting. It begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Austin Hotel in DeSoto 1, and concludes at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11. Packets for the Board Meeting will be distributed at registration. Board Members are encouraged to look at these before the Board Meeting. Presidents of County Councils, or their representative, who paid dues by, August 1, 2007 will be eligible to vote. (If a County President is sending a representative in his/her place, he/she should notify the AEHC President in writing before the Board Meeting.) Chairs will be marked with the names of counties for the Opening Session and Board Meeting. After roll call begins, delegates cannot be seated and therefore forfeit their vote.

Processional
AEHC State Officers, Associate District Directors, AEHC Past Presidents, County Council Presidents (with flags) and County FCS Agents, or their representatives will have assigned seating for the opening session on Tuesday afternoon. Presidents and Agents will walk from the back to the front. Flags will be in place before you march. Officers and others marching should take their place at their assigned seat. The rehearsal will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10. Your county flag will be in place for rehearsal since we stored them at the state office last year.

Fifty-Year Members
Fifty-year members will receive a certificate at the Awards Luncheon on Wednesday afternoon. Fifty-year members names should be sent to Betty F. Oliver by May 1, 2008, on the appropriate form in the registration packet (after May 1, names will not be accepted). A special power point presentation is planned for 50 year members; be sure 3 pictures are sent to Anna Bennett for this presentation. An early, mid-year & present picture will be needed.

Memorials
The names of deceased members will be displayed in the exhibit area. Please complete the form, listing members who have passed away since the 2008 meeting. If you call these in, please follow-up with the written form so the names will be spelled correctly in the program. Names for Memorials should be sent to Betty F. Oliver (after May 1, names will not be accepted).

Exhibits
Exhibits representing different segments of the AEHC program will be available for viewing at the times listed in the program. They will be located outside the AEHC information center.

Curtain Calls
Curtain calls will be conducted as a walk through with some explanation on Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. All instructions will be available in the room where Curtain Calls are held. Some curtain calls will be door prizes on the last day.

Educational Program Exhibits
Each District Associate Director Team will have an exhibit on the major or minor educational program focus. Come by and get some ideas for county fair exhibits. These exhibits will be located outside the information room.

AEHC Mini Grants
Marion County and Calhoun County won $500 mini grants in 2007. Each of these counties will have a tabletop exhibit of their projects completed due to receiving grants.

Record Books
County Record Books will be on display on the right side of Horner Hall. Make time to look at some of the county accomplishments. Counties should pick up books Thursday before the final session.

Craft Show
Bring your pin money and delight in the offerings of crafts and other items, which will be for sale in the show. The show will be in the main lobby of the Convention Center and will be open from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday. Contact Peggy Barnett (501-623-9592) or Janie Wood (501-767-1386) by May 1, 2008, to rent a space. EHC members may rent a space for $30.00.

Thursday's closing session
We have scheduled an outstanding presentation by Phyllis Spear, from the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission, on Outdoor Cooking. You will not want to miss this outstanding presentation. This session will also include the installation of new state officers and recognition of the retiring officers.
