Bidding & Buying - on eBay

Kimberly Magee, CES Program Associate will teach bidding & buying on eBay can be easy and safe. In this lesson, learn to do it step by step. You will learn how to find an item; how to view & evaluate listings; how to easily bid & buy; and how to complete a purchase.

Effective Use Digital Cameras

This class will be taught by Kevin Quinn, CES Video Specialist. Participants will learn more by brining their own digital cameras. Kevin will give tips on taking pictures, using the camera effectively and caring for the camera.

Make Your Snacks Count

This class will be taught by Easter Tucker, CES Nutrition Specialist. Easter gives practical ways to prepare and use snacks for your family. Good nutrition will be the basis of all information that she will teach.

Healthy Hearts

This class will be taught by Katie Cobb, FCS agent in White County. Katie will give heart statistics that will help you understand the importance of this class. She will show heart healthy foods and discuss other aspects of being heart healthy.

Ti Chi

Dr. Anne Sortor, Assistant Director Family & Consumer Science, will teach this class. Dr. Sortor has had extensive experience in Ti Chi, an exercise program that can benefit all ages. Exercises will be demonstrated. You will not want to miss this class. Participants should wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes.

Native Landscape Trees and Wild Edibles

This class will be taught by Dr. Tamara L. Walkingstick, Associate Director- Arkansas Forest Resources Center at CES. Dr. Walkingstick’s class will include samples of prepared wild food as well as information on native trees.

Color in Your Landscape

This class will be taught by Janet Carson, CES Horticulture Specialist. Janet is a well known horticulturist in Arkansas. She has conduced weekly radio programs; weekly state wide newspaper columns; and television programs. The class will give information on adding color to your landscape for added beauty.

2008 Ballot Issues

This class will be taught by Rodney Baker, Director Governmental Affairs with Arkansas Farm Bureau. Rodney will give information on the important issues that will be on the ballot in November 2008.

Breast Awareness

This class will be taught by Emily Pearce, Health Initiative Representative from the American Cancer Society. The class will include not only how to do breast self examination, but it will give other important precautions for preventing cancer.

What You Should Know About EHC Finances

The class will be taught by Bernadette Hinkle, CES Associate Director of Finance and Administration. Bernadette will discuss the importance of keeping good records, audits, bank and savings accounts. A discussion will also be made on reporting electronically to the IRS.
