Beaded Trivet
Joan Shadd, from Scott County, will teach this class. This
beautiful trivet made by stringing and sewing through plastic beads.
Its uses include tablemat or a doily to display items. Cost of kit -
$3.00
Bling Ring
Judy Brechenridge, from Sharp County, will teach this class.
Everyone needs a “Bling Ring!” It is a circle of pearls topped by
colored stones. The ring is fun to wear; easy to make; and admired
by everyone. Cost of kit - $5.00
Christmas Table Runner
Yvonne James, from Benton County, will teach this class.
Participants should bring a sewing machine. The runner quilted with
red & green fabric and a 3” inch border.
Cost of kit - $10.00
Cut and Slash Wall Hanging
Mary Harrison, from Pulaski County, will teach this class. The
wall hanging is 24” square. Participants will slice and dice two
different pieces of fabric, one fabric pattern, the other a
coordinating color with a patterned fabric. The fabrics blend to
create a harmonious wall hanging. Cost of kit - $10.00
Fabric Painting
June Dawson, from Cleburne County, will teach the class. The
class will learn the techniques of fabric painting by creating a
pocket on a sweatshirt with paint; then decorating the pocket for
Christmas with painted holly leaves and a candy cane.
Cost of kit - $7.00
Ribbon Angel Christmas Ornament
Betty David, from Yell County, will teach this class. Angels made
in a variety of holiday ribbons; are tied on packages, greenery and
Christmas’ trees. It is worn as a pin. Cost of kit - $3.00
Sashiko - Japanese Embroidery
Dorothy Anderson, From Marion County, will teach this class. The
class participants will make a table runner. In the early 18th
century Japanese wives of farmers, anglers, and lumberjacks made
warm garments for the men by stitching two or more pieces of fabric
together, using fine running stitches throughout the garment. This
type of stitching is known as Sashiko; by the end of the 19th
century, it appeared in cities; and became more elaborate. Cost of
kit - $5.00
Stuff - It - Bag
Kim Hughes, FCS Agent - Polk County, will teach this class. The
bag is a “tote all” that you have been waiting for. This roomy bag
can made with decorative fabrics or plain cotton fabrics. It is easy
to make and fun to use. The bags can be used to hold quilting
projects or for a day at the park. Participants need to bring a
sewing machine, fabric, and thread. Cost of class - $3.00
Felted Wool Christmas Ornament
Carolyn Burns, FCS Agent - Lonoke County, will teach this class.
Appliquéd ornaments are made using felted wool and embroidery
thread. The ornaments are easy to make using simple embroidery
stitches. Cost of kits - $6.00
Jaunty Hats
Norwyn Waters, from White County, will teach this class. She was
our speaker last year at the closing session. Norwyn will give tips
on knitting the hats and decorating ideas for the head dressings.
